Carlo Acutis Catholic High School seeks an exceptional Catholic executive leader to serve as its Founding President. This is a rare and compelling opportunity to build a new, unapologetically Catholic, academically excellent high school from the ground up in one of the fastest-growing regions of the country.
Catholic families in the Greater Houston Bay Area have long expressed the need for a local Catholic high school. Currently, there is an approximately 60-mile gap between the two closest Catholic high school options, leaving a significant and growing population of Catholic families without a proximate choice for faith-based secondary education.
In 2022, a dedicated group of Catholic parents and community leaders set out to determine what it would take to establish a local Catholic high school. With the support of the Superintendent of Catholic Schools of the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston, a comprehensive feasibility assessment of the Bay Area Deanery was conducted. In spring 2024, findings were presented to the Catholic Schools Board and Archdiocesan leadership, including His Eminence Cardinal DiNardo. Approval to proceed was granted in late spring 2024.
Named for Saint Carlo Acutis — the first millennial saint and a model of joyful, authentic Catholic witness — the school will be centered in the Eucharist and committed to forming disciples, developing scholars, and building a community of faith-filled fellowship.
