St. Michael the Archangel Catholic High School (SMA) is a college-preparatory school located in Lee’s Summit, Missouri.  Established in 2017, this diverse high school is a 21st-century learning environment rooted in the traditions and values of the Catholic faith. Defying national downward trends in Catholic education, SMA consistently shows a promising average growth of 7% each year.

While providing rich initiatives that lead students closer in their relationship with Jesus Christ, SMA also sets a standard of being a place “Where You Belong.” This environment is created through our Community system, mixing students from each grade level to utilize collaboration skills which fosters a more unified school for inclusive education for all. Each community is named after a 21st century saint, John Paul II, Maximilian Kolbe, and Padre Pio. Community time is set aside daily for students to see each other as individuals, build authentic relationships, form servant leaders, and build up one another in Christ.

The small student-teacher ratio of 10:1 allows our students to be known and academically challenged as individuals. Committed to offering quality educational programs, SMA was the first Catholic high school in the nation to implement a 4-year Aviation program.  St. Michael’s has also been one of the leading schools in our inclusive education program, where students with disabilities learn alongside their fellow students in everyday classrooms. This program, referred to as our S.M.I.L.E. Zone (St. Michael Inclusive Learning Enhancement), is also unique through the involvement of Peer Mentors by some of our top SMA students.

Our mission is to prepare young men and women for life by encouraging them to discover and develop their God-given gifts in order to KNOW TRUTH, LOVE GOD, and SERVE OTHERS as His faithful disciples. For more information, visit us at smacatholic.org.
