Praise be Jesus Christ! Merry Christmas!

One of the things some people might not realize is that Christmas is not a single day but a season. There is an Octave of Christmas ending with Mary, Mother of God and the season of Christmas goes until the Baptism of Jesus. As Catholic schools, we are invited to enter into the liturgical life of the Church. So as you begin the Spring semester at your school, I invite you to consider the possibility of facilitating opportunities for your students to continue to experience the joy of the Christmas season. In a particular way, celebrating the Epiphany can be a fruitful experience, honoring the Magi’s encounter with the newborn Jesus in Bethlehem.

Please know of my prayers for you and your schools. May the joy of the Christ Child radiate upon you and your schools.
