Peace from Istanbul, Turkey, where I am currently on an Evangelization Trip to share the Gospel at Parish in the City. The Church is on the main shopping street of Istanbul (similar to 5th Avenue in New York).

The Visitors come from both all over Turkey as well as tourists from all over the world. We have had the opportunity to share the Gospel. Many, many people have literally never heard the Gospel before or had a chance to read the New Testament.

It is a reminder of the treasure that we have in Jesus: the reality of the Word became Flesh, as John says, “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, full of grace and truth; we have beheld his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father.” (John 1:14)

It has also been a reinforcement of the importance of proclamation of the Gospel (preaching) and Catechesis (teaching). As Romans reminds us, “So faith comes from what is heard, and what is heard comes by the preaching of Christ.” May we be generous in our sharing of the Gospel amongst our students with the great gift that has been entrusted to us.

One of the majorly impactful gifts of the Churches we have been in, is the beautiful artwork. We are able to explain the deep meaning behind Sacred Art. I highly encourage you as a school, if your school does not already have some present, to make an investment in beauty.

May God reward your work and ministry for his glory.
