Life is challenging. Being an adult, parent, educator and professional can be exhausting. We need back up. We are designed to be in community; we are built in the image and likeness of God. God’s image is a trinity of persons; we are body, mind and soul. God is surrounded by saints and angels; who are you surrounded by?
This Lent, share your hopes, dreams and struggles with a fellow educator. Duc in Altum is a relational collaborative. I love hearing about your hopes, dreams and struggles, and connecting you to those who can relate and offer hope and connection. Call me anytime. Better than that, if you have been to a Duc In Altum Summit, you have likely met a colleague or two that really gets you. Reach out and share the journey. Our collaborating schools have so much to share. This Lent, don’t just go inward; reach out to a like-minded colleague!
Duc In Altum just held our annual board meeting; this year we were in Marin County, California, at Marin Catholic High School. The weather was very cold for Marin, but the spirit of the students and staff was radiant. Being on campus, we were so inspired, and we all learned so much. Many pictures were taken. Follow up questions were flying. Marin’s technology, many gorgeous sacred spaces, arts program, entrepreneurial institute and mission driven staff impressed us all. Marin is really great, but so are you! We all have great things to share, and we all have much to learn.
Please don’t let the spirit of comparison paralyze; we are all in this together. Let’s encourage and inspire each other. Please prioritize collaborating at the University of Dallas for the 2026 DIA Schools Summit; we learn so much from each other. If you have the margin, consider a site visit at a DIA collaborating school. Reach out whether in-person or on-line.
