Featured Speakers
Dr. Joseph McCleary is an educator with over thirty-five years of experience running and founding schools from the Mid-Atlantic to New England. Most recently, he was founding president of the Hawthorn School in Bedford, NY. He has served as teacher, headmaster, superintendent, and president at both private and public schools, and has taught as an adjunct professor at the University of Maryland and the Catholic University of America. He led several schools to top rankings in Newsweek, U.S. News & World Report, The Washington Post, and Boston Magazine. He is a recipient of multiple awards, including Educator of the Year in the Boston suburbs and the Commendation for Educator Excellence from the Massachusetts House of Representatives. He and his wife Mary reside in New York and have three grown children.

Mr. Michael J. Barvick has close to three decades of fundraising and non-profit management experience Michael has helped organizations raise over $400 million in major and planned gifts in support of their missions. He has broad experience in the world of advancement and during his career has helped build and grow programs in support of education, underserved communities and public policy. As the Director of Major Gift Planning at the Heritage Foundation he oversaw substantial growth in major and planned gift funding for one of the country’s top public policy think tanks. In 2016 Michael founded Alexis Consulting, which provided numerous non-profits assistance in management and fundraising strategies including The Thomas More Society, Christendom College, Divine Mercy University and the National Center on Sexual Exploitation. Michael holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Dallas. He and his wife Abby reside in Great Falls, Virginia and have seven children.
